Abstract

This study will discuss about how Kochan becomes a homosexual. There are three factors that can make Kochan become a homosexual. So, the thesis writer is encouraged to know the factors that cause Kochan to be a homosexual. In analyzing the novel, the thesis writer uses the literary theories such as, the theory of characterization to analyze Kochan?s character and theory of conflict to analyze the relationship between Kochan and the other characters that gives influence Kochan to be Homosexual. The thesis writer also uses homosexual concept to give a support both theories above. The first factor is familial factor where Kochan?s grandmother becomes the important person who gives influence to Kochan. The second factor is environmental factor where Kochan gets influence from his friends in the school and about Kochan?s failure in loving women. The third factor is sexual fantasy factor where Kochan gets influence, because he has bad habit in sexual fantasy that is different from a normal man. Throughout the analysis, the thesis writer finds out that the familial factor becomes the important factor that gives influence to Kochan.
