The approach of this study is descriptive qualitative. The finding of this study reveals that all types of maxim are flouted, with the Maxim of Relevance which is flouted twelve times, and then the Maxim of Quantity which is flouted nine times, Maxim of Manner which is flouted twice, and then the Maxim of Quality which is flouted once. Another finding of this study reveals that from twenty four flouted maxims, only five of them which cause misunderstandings. In conclusion, Reed Richard flouts all types of maxim, which maxim of Relevance is the most often flouted. Moreover, most of the flouting of the maxims do not cause misunderstandings.
