The company is a slipper manufacturer. Production planning is still done manually so there are many excess materials. This research will make a material planning system. The development begins with the item forecasting by using Moving Average, Exponential Smoothing and Trend Line Analysis. And from the result of forecasting, the smallest total cost will be calculated by using lot size methods such as Lot for Lot, Economic Order Quantity, Period Order Quantity, and Part Period Balancing the Total Cost. The result is a table of material requirements planning. This software is created using SQL Server 2000 for its database and use Borland Delphi 7.0 as compiler. From the results of implementation and testing, company can obtain estimates of material requirements that are closer to reality and reduce the occurrence of excessive purchases of raw materials, so that corporate profits will be greater.
