Abstract

This thesis is a study of Charles Dickens' Pickwick Papers. In this case, the thesis writer analyzes the innocent ?fall of fir. Samuel Pickwick as the main character. The thesis writer wants to show the innocent fall of Mr. Pickwick that finally makes him conscious toward the situation of the world. In finding out the answers of his analysis, the thesis writer analyzes Mr. Pickwick's character traits, other character's re-actions toward Mr. Pickwick's innocence, Mr. Pickwick's innocent fall and the result of his innocent fall. In this case, the thesis writer uses literary approach through characterization to get the answers of his analysis. The analysis shows that Mr. Pickwick's character traits are good and innocence. During his journey, he goes through many experiences that cause him into troubles. He experiences some innocent falls that finally makes him change. He, then, becomes realize toward the real situation in the world. He is also changed from innocence to experience. After the thesis writer gets the answers of his analysis, he concludes that Mr. Pickwick's innocent fall is caused by his own character traits. Yet, he gets a valuable'lesson in his life from his innocent fall. Mr. Pickwick's innocent fall leads to his consciousness of the real world.
