Abstract

This thesis examines the implementation of slipsheet in Sakatama at 2007. The main reason behind the research is to understand the challenges, hurdles and opportunities arise after slip sheet implementation. In this research, the author employs qualitative study technique, which is individual depth interview. There are five interviewees come from different background who have close relationship with slipsheet implementation at Sakatama. From them, the writer explores the information about challenges, hurdles and opportunities arise from slip sheet implementation. After that, this information is summarized in form of 4 level of trade off to comprehend its impact on company holistically. To measure the impact of slip sheet implementation toward Sakatama performance operationally, the writer compares the productivity and efficiency of some of the process inside material handling. Last but not least, to understand the impact of slipsheet implementation financially, writer calculatescost saving, which arise after slip sheet implementation. Results of all this analysis show that slip sheet implementation have a very positive impact toward the performance of material handling and logistic, both operationally and financially. There are some hurdles and challenges arise, but this challenges and hurdles is minor thing compare to the positive impact its can create.
