Abstract

The Kite Runner is a novel that presents some issues in the society now days where there is always a conflict in the family which leads them to a fragile relationship. The writer wants to know why the main character?s family becomes fragile and how they solve the problem. The writer uses literary approach, such as the theory of conflict and the theory of characterization, in order to help the writer in this thesis to analyze the causes of the fragile family-relation and the way they solve the problem. The writer finds out that there are two causes of the fragile relationship in the main character?s family. The first cause is the misperception. The second cause is the concealment of the truth. The writer also discovers some efforts done by the main character?s family to solve the problem. The first effort is rectifying the perception among the family members. Then, revelation has led the family to reveal the truth and reduce the fragile relationship in their family. So, the main character?s family regains their relation as a family, something that has been missing for a long time.
