This thesis is an analysis which uses semantic theory to analyze the dialogue article "Eksklusif" in Kartini magazine. This study is trying to know the connotative and the denotative meaning of the words with intended meaning. Then it would like to find out whether there is any relationship between the connotative mean-ing and the topic area in which the word is used. the writer uses the qualitative approach and the analysis is based on eight dialogue articles "Eksklusif" in Kartini magazine. To be able to analyze the dialogue article, the writer employs the theory of connotative and denotative meaning, and part of speech by Nelson francis and Tata Bahasa Baku Bahasa Indonesia. From the findings, it is found out that sexual matter is the kind of topic area which occurs mostly in the words with connotative meaning.
