An innovation and technology can give companies a competitive advantage by producing steps to improve their sales and marketing techniques. Such systems treat information as resources that can be (mined) by the organization to increase profitability and market penetration. Writer used weighting method to score the criteria build by her own. By weighting, we can obtain a result that delivers us to the comprehension about what are the most affecting criteria of the technology attractiveness and competitiveness; therefore we can begin to the next step of innovation process. The conclusions are showed that companies - include technical managers in it - are fully aware of competitive and market challenges. They even put more emphasis on competitive and market criteria than on pure technical criteria. Fortunately, the technical backgrounds do not create blinders. The results of this suggest that companies have to scan competition and its evolution carefully.
