Abstract
Reading and Writing can be a real problem to university students whose English proficiency is low, especially when reading and writing are included in one subject. A little humanistic touch, manifested in the teaching of reading and writing, can motivate these students to perform better. This paper discusses ways to boost students’ motivation and comprehension in reading and writing and also discusses the use of translation in teaching reading. Real examples of students’ paragraphs, the correction, and comments are also given.
