Abstract

The aim of this paper is to find out the correlation between management style and company performance in Pulp and Paper manufacturing companies in Indonesia. The authors have a deep interest to conduct this study are for the reason that paper has been a crucial tool in Indonesia and it IS still very limited research conducted in this industry. The authors are using primary source as the object of the data by conducting survey through questionnaire and interview to 35 active Pulp and Paper manufacturing companies through out Indonesia. There were 21 companies respond the survey. The data gathered from respondents are analyzed through analytical methods like Descriptive analysis, Item Total Correlation test, Ordinary Least Square Regression, and Binary Logistic Regression. The results of the study are aligned with the authors? three hypotheses. A positive impact is shown by the company`s degree of risk taking to performance which is taken by the authors to represent the entrepreneurial style. The hypothesis of positive correlation between managerial behaviors to performance is supported by the company`s plan evaluation variable to performance. And the generic factor IS represented by the negative correlation between company?s adaptability to the development of International Management method to performance.
