Abstract

The sun is unlimited energy source for life on the earth. But, besides as energy source, the sun also gives ‘trouble' to the universe around earth and also to the life on earth. Source of the troubles from the sun are flares and Coronal Mass Ejection/CME. Both of those troubles in general come from group of sunspot. With growing of dependency of human life with modern technology, either facility on the surface of the earth or in universe around the earth, the 'troubles' from the sun should be anticipated. To know the level of the sunspots complexity and their activity, Modified-Zurich sunspot classification is used. Before classify the sunspots, the initial step is to segment the sunspots image. In this research, we implement Watershed method to segment sunspots image.
