BATIK AND ITS IMPLEMENTATION IN ART AND DESIGN

The art of batik in Indonesia has unique, aesthetic, and various decorative motifs. Its application can be found in the decorations of temples which become inspiration for the development of decorative motifs in clothing materials. Batik is later developed by not only being applied to fabric. The beauty of decorative motif inspires artists and designers to apply it in the field of art and design with a new alternative media, both by written batik technique and by other techniques. It shows that batik can remain sustainable until now to answer the needs of todays society.
