Abstract

One success factor for business development cannot be separated from project manager support
which holds an important contribution in project management. For competency parameters itself
are divided intoknowledge, skill and attitude. Meanwhile, one indicator that makes project or
performance successful canbe seen through quantity number of increasing projects. This study
aims to examine the current phenomenon which departs from dynamic capability as grand theory
in order to obtain an explanation of the causal relationship between the variables using specific
quantitative method called causal comparativeswith purposive sampling technique for digital
questionnaire to collect data. Among 105 of interior businesses in Surabaya, there are 50
target sample respondents related to project manager that have beenspecifically chosen. SPSS
software was used to help descriptive statistical analysis technique also using Pearson
Correlation for validity test and Alpha Cronbach for reliability test. Based on the results, all
questionary are valid and reliable, therefore data obtained can be tested for further analysis
named multiple linear regression. As for the conclusion, three variables (X1, X2 and X3) have correlations, but doesn’t necessarily mean they does have causal relationship individually, whilst
simultaneously together give effect towards increasing number interior design project with value
of 25,1%. It can be explained because attitude competency(X3) has a very weak positive and
insignificant correlation of 0,045 with a significance value 0,372; also partial causal effect t test
result which is t count < t table and sig value > 0,05 i.e. 0,328 < 2,010 and 0,372 > 0,05.
