Abstract
Jewelry is a decorative item that is widely used by humans even though it is classified in the tertiary needs group. In general, jewelry is made of gold with other metals mixed in. The casting process is one of the techniques for making jewelry products in bulk that is widely used by jewelry craftsmen. This process is done by pouring liquid material into a mold cavity that has been formed and then cooled. The problem found is that the jewelry casting process cannot be done by simple gravity pouring, so the process is always assisted by a machine to avoid the occurrence of shrinkage porosity by adjusting the temperature at the right temperature condition of the metal melt in order to reduce contact with air when the metal is melted and poured in the mold room. The vacuum casting machine in this case is used to help make jewelry products so that the surface is smooth even with intricate details and ensure that the metal fills the mold well. In addition, the designed vacuum casting machine is easier to operate by the operator because it consists of a heating element using a pneumatic stopper mechanism with a casting capacity of 400 gr. The performance of this vacuum casting machine can heat the heating element in an interval of 1 hour 34 minutes, and the air ejection time from the vacuum chamber is within 27 seconds and the product quality produced is also without any product defects
