Abstract

A class of packaging design in Petra Christian University has several Service-Learning projects that design a packaging for micro industries with a limited budget. Because of this boundary, most of students’ creativity in designing a packaging couldn’t meet the need of society.
This paper examines the Service-Learning process both theoretically and practically and shares the packaging design's class strategies to solve this problem.
Our class develops a conceptual model that could serve the society’s need and accommodate the student’s creativity. There are significant Service-Learning achievements in quality and quantity.
The effective implementation of conceptual model could balance the fulfillment of society’s need without disregarding the student’s conviction of their creative designs.
