Pengaruh Pandangan Sosio-Kultural Sultan Hamengkubuwana IX terhadap Eksistensi Keraton Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta. Keraton as the center of the feudal system of government, turned into a special region, part of the Indonesian republic in democratic governance. Qualitative research with this historical approach, using descriptive analysis method to find the Sultan Hamengku Buwana IX’s view related with social cultural and changes Keraton Yogyakarta existence. The research result will show that Sultan Hamengku Buwana IX’s had many involvements in the struggle of Indonesian Republic, making changes in the keraton government system and develop the keraton function as the center of culture, tourism and education. The existence of keraton had change its function as the center of the king governance as the central of the Javanese art and culture which are sacred and high culture. Changes refer to thingking about the concept oh the Sultan’s throne to the people, which prioritizes the development of the wider community. That change is the success of the Sultan in combining tradisional and modern thinking.
