Abstract
As a social media, Instagram is equipped with facilities such as to take pictures and then upload them on private wall that can be viewed by others. Some people interprete it as a medium of self-actualization, which is confirmed by the number of followers on his/her account. It�s also considered as people�s popularity indicator. Thus why, people who are very famous in Instagram as they have high followers and popularity are called as the celebgram or Instagram�s celebrity. It is seen by the businessmen as an opportunity. The celebgrams become their products/services endorsers. This research aims to identify the products/services of fashion, which are endorsed by Surabaya�s celebgram. Furthermore, the study also aims to determine how celebgrams present themselves on Instagram with the products/services. The goals of the research are to reveal what are the roles of the celebgrams on Instagram. The result shows that varies of fashion products/services were endorsed by celebgrams, such as clothings, accessories, beauty products and body care, also beauty treatment services. Some visual roles� concept were determined by the celebgrams themselves, such as pretended as a user or consumer that gained some benefits from the use of the product/service; a model that aroused product appeal; and a person demonstrated the use of the products. The conclusion is Surabaya�s celebgrams tend to appear together with the product, but mostly are focused on the models/celebgrams. In addition, their roles as endorser make them are recognized as Instagram�s celebrities, especially in Surabaya. This is how identity of Surabaya�s Instagram celebrities formed.
